| I am a descendent of Emmett Till through my grandmother on my mother side, my grandmother maiden name was montgomercy before she married my grand dad My Grand Mother was from Itta Bena , Mississippi ; and My Grand Dad was from Lexington , Mississippi , to this union 9 children was born ; their third youngest child is My Mother . My Grand Parents were members of Itta Bena , Mississippi COGIC under the Leadership of VC Thompson until they moved to Los Angeles , California in 1953 to continue their ministry ; My Grand Dad was a Preacher and My Grand Mother a Missionary . when this happen to Emmett Till my Grand Mother was so afraid until she would not talk about it , in 1997 she went to her grave iwith the story buried in her heart but God has resurrected it through me by faith without fear . I was born a decade after the death of Emmett Till and the only grandchild to write this story.. |
| The Story Emmett Till was the slain 14 year old African American that was kidnapped and brutally murdered on August 28, 1955 by two white men who were half brothers by the name of Roy Bryant and J.W. Milam for whistling at a Southern Beauty of white persuasion August 24, 1955 who worked at the neighborhood grocery store where this juvenile admiration supposely had taken place in Money , Mississippi . a Decade before I was born Emmett Till was accompanied by 4 other teenagers , 3 boys and 1 girl ; two of the boys were Emmett Till's cousin they went to this neighborhood store to by candy and bubble gum ; Emmett Till went inside the store while the others stayed outside and it was reported that Emmett Till had whistled at this Southern Beauty of white persuasion 21 years of age , and come to find out she was the wife of Roy Bryant the store owner , the night of the incident Roy Brayant and half brother J W. went to Emmett Till uncle's house where Emmett Till was staying on a vacation , they walked inside uncle Moses house asked where were the boy , they went to his bedroom kidnapped him and left in one of the men's truck , it was also reported that Carolyn Bryant ( The Southern Beauty ) was also in the truck and gave clarity that this was the one ( refering to Emmett Till ) who whistled at her . it was also reported that they first took Emmett Till to a barn and beat him ; and what was told by my family that was never mentioned is that they also cut off his private part . |
| Emmett Till's body was found in the Tallahatchie River in Mississippi with a gun shot in his head and a metal fan tied around his neck with barb wire . Emmett Till body was so disfigured until he was not recognized by human physicalityIt was the initial ring on his finger that gave way ,; an initial that read L.T. that stood for Louis Till who was Emmett Till father who served in the military in world war II as a Soldier in the Army , when Soldier Louis Till lost his life during that time the Army officials had given his possesions to the next of kin and one of the items was the initial ring that was given to his wife Mamie Till , Emmett Till's Mother , and when Emmett Till became of age she then gave him his father's ring . I believe this was orchestrated by the will of God because the Lord knew his life would be cut short by this senseless tragedy that would cause Emmett Till to be only identified by a ring on his finger . |
